Save the Date for AC20 in Reno

NEW Joint CWEA/NWEA Exhibit Hall and Events
NEW Partnering for Impact Event by ReNUWIt and University of Nevada, Reno

AC20 Reasons for Reno

  • The Sacramento Convention Center is closed 2020 through 2021 for remodeling. Other Bay Area and Northern California convention centers are very expensive or have limitations for mid-sized conferences such as AC.
  • The Reno Convention Center is recently renovated, modern, spacious and comfortable. It is highly rated and they are offering several incentives.
  • Reno hotels are affordable and plentiful, including the host hotel Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa.
  • Flights from all major CA cities right into Reno are convenient.
  • Restaurants are nearby, including several in the Atlantis.
  • Fun and excitement – Downtown Reno is short 12-15 minute drive.
  • Many California water associations enjoy Nevada’s friendly hospitality. California agencies send team members to NV for the CA-NV AWWA conference and TriState Conference in Las Vegas.

Reasons to Attend AC

  • Meet and network with 2,000 water professionals (now from CA and NV!).
  • Learn from 200+ presenters during the 150 technical sessions and workshops.
  • Learn about hot topics water leaders told us their folks need to know now, including: asset management; collection systems; SSS-WDR; one water; water reuse; advanced water treatment; ELAP; alternative delivery; regulations; nutrient removal; operations; biosolids and more.
  • Learn about new technologies and talk with 150 vendors in the exhibit hall.
  • And of course have some fun – ice breakers; bowling tournament; awards ceremony; special networking lunches; social events and more!

Bonus Reno Benefits

  • Joint events with water pros from the Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA).
  • Joint California-Nevada Partnering for Impact event organized by the University of Reno and ReNUWIt.
  • Exciting new tour locations including Reno, Lake Tahoe and Truckee advanced water resource recovery facilities.
  • First time in decades Annual Conference is near our Sierra Section members.
  • 2-hour drive from Sacramento and several Northern California cities.
  • During downtime great rec opportunities – skiing, hiking and Tahoe!

“The California-Nevada Section of AWWA regularly holds conferences in Reno, and it always meets or exceeds expectations. There is a terrific, newly renovated convention center. Reno is affordable, and features plenty of opportunities for learning, networking, and fun.”
– Tim Worley, Executive Director, CA-NV AWWWA
